This is a neat little image i found after I had searched catcher in the rye. I personally think that this symbolizes Holden because as he is running one way everyone else is running in the opposite way and trying to reach out.

I really like this picture and also agree that it captures the whole essence of this book. i think that whoever drew this or whatever really had to have studied the book, even though you probably could have done it with only looking at the title.
